Intransa is expanding its distribution channel into the United Kingdom and Ireland and has announced a distribution partnership with Norbain SD. Norbian is widely recognized as one of Europe’s most successful distributors of CCTV, IP Video, Access Control and Intruder Detection equipment.

“Our European expansion is in direct response to the accelerated demand for open, IP-based security products around the globe,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO, Intransa. “The security industry is changing quickly due to the flexibility of IP and customers are increasingly looking to companies that have easy-to-use, reliable platforms. Our flexible products enable customers to install security platforms that are scalable and competitively priced.”

The partnership will extend the reach of Intransa’s open platform server, storage and appliances to the European market. Intransa’s video-optimized platforms are built for the unique demands of video security and are integrated with its security-oriented services portfolio for affordable and simplified local installations as well as for use in advanced cloud deployments.

“Intransa has a strong track record of delivering video optimized server and storage platforms for the IP video surveillance market,” said Andrew Pigram, technical director, Norbain. “And, we are consistently searching for the best technologies. Intransa’s server, storage and appliance platforms allow us to capture new market opportunities and launching its IP product portfolio into Europe is a key part of that strategy.”

More information on the Intransa and Norbain partnership can be found at the Norbain booth # Hall 5 D20 at IFSEC, May 14-17, 2012, in NEC Birmingham, UK.

Today’s video security systems are more important than ever. Unfortunately, no matter how good the surveillance cameras and video management system software are, if the server and storage hardware infrastructure is not operating correctly due to failed components, the entire video system is at risk. We would like to learn more from security professionals through a SHORT survey regarding what the customer support pain points are when monitoring physical security systems. Please take a minute to share your thoughts. It really should only take a minute. Thanks.

It was a great event for Intransa.

While the first two days of the show were above expectations, usually the final day of any event is less exciting… especially in Vegas. But the Intransa booth team was pleasantly surprised that booth traffic kept up all day and an integrator even brought a prospect over AFTER the show closed. Then lights went off and the rugs were rolled up!

The Intransa crew finished the booth tear down on Saturday, and then coordinated shipping back to the warehouse in Santa Clara. And then the last of them got to fly back home late Saturday after a very long but productive week.

Thanks go to all of Intransa’s partners at the show and the Intransa booth crew. Lots of leads were gleaned and new project opportunities will certainly follow. Intransa also met with more than a dozen press and analysts ensuring lots of continued media coverage of Intransa’s platforms and services in upcoming electronic and print issues.

Intransa’s next big event is ASIS in the fall of 2012 but in the meantime the company has a number of partner roadshows and regionally-targeted events – such as Secured Cities Chicago coming up later in April 2012. See you on the road soon!

Intransa’s had a great start to the ISC West 2012 show at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Intransa booth staff was incredibly busy on Wednesday, March 28 from setting up the booth to closing for the day at 5 PM. In fact, there when the booth did open up there were more than 500 visitors that dropped in to see us.

The day started off with a rigger and crane arriving to hook up the new, 10 foot diameter Intransa sign over top of the booth just before the doors opened.

After that, we had fashion statements like this…

At the booth Intransa is showing off Milestone, OnSSI, Digifort and Genetec running on various Intransa systems, and a wide range of certified cameras. In the central rack we have Intransa VideoAppliance™, plus Intransa EnterpriseServer™ and EnterpriseStorage™ platforms, plus HDS and NetApp storage systems.

Here are a few shots of the booth activity…

ISC West runs from March 28-30, with the show floor opening at 10 a.m. If you’re there stop by and see the Intransa team and experience the booth, 26127, and don’t forget to register for your chance to win a new iPad.

“We are pleased to have not one, but two products, SELECT certified with Intransa,” said Sergio Collazo, director, sales and marketing, Toshiba. “Being preloaded for use on Intransa’s platforms provides customers with additional choice when they are looking for a combination of VMS software, cameras and a security and storage infrastructure that is designed and built for video surveillance.”

Toshiba’s HD IP video surveillance dome camera was the first model to feature full HD 1080p resolution for securing areas where the sharpest video detail is required, such as the identifying of facial features or license plates. The camera offers built-in SR IR LEDs to assist image capture in near complete darkness, along with a wide dynamic range for challenging back lighting environments.

The Toshiba VMS TruSight video analytics suite of products enables enhanced security and surveillance solutions by automatically monitoring video for specific people, vehicles, objects, and their associated behavior within a camera view. This unique VMS software can provide real time alarms based on user-defined rules to detect abnormal or suspicious behavior without the need for human supervision.

“With the certification of Toshiba’s high definition cameras and VMS software Intransa is extending the most prominent trend in the IP space and optimizing it for use with our server and storage infrastructure platform,” said Alex Doorduyn, director, product management, Intransa.

It’s official! Sony’s network cameras have achieved the highest level of certification at Intransa – SELECT ELITE certification. This means that Sony’s cameras are certified for use with Intransa’s optimized physical security server and storage infrastructure platforms.

Sony’s fixed HD cameras are the ideal choice for the most demanding HD video surveillance application environments such as retail, hotel, restaurant, education and corporations. In addition the cameras are a powerful addition to its network HD camera lineup – the SNC-CH210/B and SNC-CH210/S. Supporting H.264/MPEG-4/JPEG compression formats, the cameras deliver excellent picture quality in 1080p HD resolutions at 15 frames per second (fps), 720p HD resolutions at 30 fps and 3 megapixel resolutions at 12 fsp (JPEG).

Mark Collett, general manager, Sony Electronics’ Security Systems Division commented on the Intransa partnership, “Working with a unique platform company focused entirely on physical security, such as Intransa, allows us to provide customers with open and easy-to-use security platforms that enable customer’s simpler installation and ongoing operation. We are pleased with this enhanced collaboration between our companies as it provides considerable benefit to our customers.”

Achieving SELECT ELITE certification means a vendor is one of the most popular choices of Intransa customers for use on Intransa servers, storage or appliances. They also must be complete Level 1 Validation Testing and Level 2 Advanced Certification and Integration Testing successfully a minimum of six months in advance of Level 3 Advanced Performance and Integration Testing completion. They also must meet all other requirements of the SELECT CERTIFIED level.

“SELECT ELITE certification status is an incredible sign to customers that Sony is truly dedicated to providing them with the best IP video technology pre-tested with the most scalable physical security server and storage platforms in the market”, said Alex Doorduyn, director, product management, Intransa. “Sony first achieved enhanced status as a SELECT certified partner in October, 2010, and now has taken a major step up in achieving our highest level as a member of our elite SELECT ELITE program.”
